effect.
REQUIREMENTS FOR A CIVIL WEDDING
PASSPORTS (BRIDE & GROOM MUST HAVE VALID PASSPORTS)
Even though by law the wedding couple only needs to be here 24 hrs
in advance, we would advise you to come at least 3 days in advance
to meet with the wedding coordinator and Marriage officer and go
through the final details regarding the wedding. The law requires
that the Bride and Groom are in Jamaica for a minimum of 24 hours
prior to the wedding. However, in order to get legally married by a
Marriage Officer recognized by the Jamaican Government you must
apply for a License. Bellow you will find the list of documents that
are required by the Jamaican Government to apply for this License:
Notarized copies of the Bride & Groom's birth certificates which
must include
father’s name (photocopies not allowed)
Notarized copies of Bride & Groom’s official ID (Passports)
Notarized copies of divorce decrees or death certificates (if
applicable)
This document must be sent to the Wedding Coordinator at least four
(4) weeks prior to the couple's arrival to the hotel (We highly
recommend to use a private currier as FedEx, DHL, UPS…)
All details, services and request of extras need to be discussed and
confirmed directly with the wedding department.
In order to pay you must complete the credit card
form and fax it to the wedding planner’s attention along with a copy
of the back and front of the credit card and a photo ID.
The ceremony will not be performed unless all documents are in place
(no exception)
Arrangements for Marriage Certificate
After the wedding day the Marriage Officer needs to submit the
Marriage License to the Registrar General in Montego Bay in order to
obtain your Marriage Certificate. This process takes between 1 to 2
months and we will mail the documents to you as soon as we receive
it from the Registrar’s Office.
If you would like to have certified copies, please advise the
wedding coordinator when you meet her at the hotel (with extra
charge).
BOOK YOUR WEDDING
Due to the high amount of requests for wedding dates,
we kindly ask you to request your date as soon as possible. We have
a policy of having only one wedding per day, as we believe it should
be your special day. In order to reserve & confirm the date, we
require written confirmation prior
to your arrival, always depending on date availability. We just need
you to email us or fax back the Wedding Request Form (if you do not
get it with the package please request it to the coordinator) and a
copy of a credit card (both sides) and ID as a guarantee for us to
save the date.
We do not require a deposit and we do not make any charges prior the
wedding day, all the wedding charges will go onto the room account
which you can settle during your stay. The hotel accepts credit
cards (Master card, Visa & American Express – we do not take
Discovery CC), traveler’s checks and cash.
Here at the Iberostar Rose Hall Beach Hotel, we understand that all
couples have their own idea of how they want their special day to be
so we try to be as flexible as possible.
Between now and when you walk down the aisle, you will have lots of
questions; please do not hesitate to contact our wedding coordinator
by email, fax or telephone so that we can answer any individual
questions. No question is too small or too big, please let us help
you as much as possible. We are here to take the stress out of
planning a destination wedding.
